In many rural communities in Uganda, access to basic educational resources remains a significant challenge. Many orphaned children are particularly vulnerable, often lacking the necessary support to continue their education. Through this program, BMDC aims to:
1. Reduce school dropout rates among orphaned children
2. Improve academic performance by providing necessary resources
3. Boost confidence and motivation among vulnerable students
4. Encourage community involvement in supporting education
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Local leaders, teachers, and parents have expressed their gratitude for the support, noting that such initiatives make a tangible difference in children's lives.
One teacher from a local school shared: "Many of our students come to school without even a pen or notebook. These materials will not only help them academically but will also restore their sense of dignity and belonging."
The distribution is part of BMDC's larger education support program, which includes school fee assistance, mentorship programs, and infrastructure development in underserved schools.
